A pair of heavy radar tanks designed for urban recon and monitoring. Here they are recharging in a drainage canal at the edge of downtown. A product of poor project management and gluttonous corporate development, they are an eye sore to the public and kept out of the way when not needed. Each has a functional rotodome system in place of a rotating turret section. The oversized main gun is used primarily as a visual deterrent or distraction until something bigger can arrive and assist.
Project wise, this was me taking my experience thus far with bender as a block out tool and really building a cohesive idea and painting over it in photoshop. All the objects were modeled in flat colors before being painted over.... except the people and city, those are photos I painted over. This was a fun project which started with a sillier tank done a few weeks ago and building a singular concept around it. Bonus top view of tank block out with some cutlines noodled on it.
