DOOM Eternal - Taras Nabad Creation Room

This was a fun space to design because of its significance in the overall story.

[ Spoilers Ahead ]

Heavily keying off and grabbing some elements from Emerson Tung's concept development for Maykr Technology. The machine infuses some of what makes the Doomslayer so badass into his system. The goal was to create the machine that clearly wasn't part of the sentinel world outside this room.

Ultimately we see a future 'ruined' version f the machine as well as its original use in a flashback. I worked on the FX and animation ideation which was neat but in the final game we see the process from the doom slayers perspective inside the machine. The 'bed' the slayer gets in does lower backwards in the final version in game as the machine comes down. I imagined this thing was like a giant machine that could be lowered down from the ceiling and 'press' the slayer, infusing the power int he process.
